Big Trouble in Little China 2 begins decades after Jack Burton’s wild adventure beneath the streets of San Francisco. Now older but still full of swagger, Jack is driving the Pork-Chop Express across the country when he receives a mysterious message from Wang Chi asking for help. Although Jack has tried to convince himself that the supernatural world was a one-time detour in his life, he can’t ignore a friend in trouble. Reluctantly, he heads back to Chinatown, unaware that an ancient threat has awakened.
Upon arriving, Jack discovers that Wang’s daughter, Lian, has been kidnapped by a secret cult seeking to resurrect a powerful sorcerer even more dangerous than Lo Pan. The cult believes Lian possesses a rare spiritual energy needed to complete the ritual. Wang and Egg Shen’s former apprentices have been fighting the group for years but now fear they are outmatched. Jack, despite not understanding half the mystical talk around him, is pulled into the chaos once more. His loud confidence and accidental bravery quickly complicate everyone’s plans.

As the group searches for leads, they journey through hidden alleyways, enchanted temples, and underground markets where old legends breathe. Jack soon realizes that Chinatown has evolved into an even stranger battlefield of magic, demons, and shifting alliances. Lian, meanwhile, resists her captors by tapping into unfamiliar powers she never knew she had. Her growing strength becomes both her greatest weapon and the cult’s final key to success.
Jack’s presence, as always, brings both problems and unexpected luck. His clumsy attempts at heroism frustrate the seasoned warriors around him, yet his unpredictability keeps saving them at the last second. Alongside Wang and a new team of mystical fighters, he uncovers the cult’s lair deep beneath the city—an ancient chamber where the boundary between the living and the supernatural world has weakened. The group prepares for a confrontation they may not survive.

The final battle erupts in a blend of martial arts, spellcasting, and chaotic mishaps as Jack fumbles through traps and creatures while somehow managing to turn the tide. Lian embraces her powers, disrupting the resurrection ritual before it’s complete. The sorcerer rises only partially and becomes unstable, giving Jack the perfect moment to deliver his signature, awkward finishing blow.
In the aftermath, Chinatown begins to stabilize as the magical disturbances fade. Wang and Lian thank Jack, who brushes it off with his usual bravado, insisting he was never worried. As he drives the Pork-Chop Express into the night, a new supernatural creature secretly clings to his truck, hinting that Jack Burton’s days of stumbling into danger are far from over.
